Thanks for coming over and taking a look at my site. I look forward to seeing your site and lets keep in touch. Let me know if you have experiences you would like to share about anything those of us that run a lot would enjoy. I especially like to here about new stuff that can help make my training more efficient or new places to race.

No humidity is a wonderful experience especially when you have to train humid conditions. I find my times and endurance really increase when the humidity is low and if it is cool ...wow!

This summer after training in very high heat and humidity... much like what you experienced, I had a Mark Twain kind of experience at the San Francisco Marathon with almost cold conditions. It was not dry like the desert but it was cool.

I like your point about running based on running conditions, not the written-down plan. We had a lot of really hot and humid days here in New England, I know what you went through.

I also just ran in a race where there was no humidity - it's so amazing the difference that can make, isn't it?

Found your site when looking for other mid-runners and looking for running in the rain. I recently started a Blog for mid-runners for the same reason you state: most that is written for and on running is for the elite. Not all of us are.

Glad to find your site.

Thanks very much for this! By the way, I tried to write you back last week, but my email kept getting rejected as spam, but I wanted to let you know I did get your message.

It really helps to hear advice from such an experienced runner. I have run near the ocean and it was AWESOME at my back. My training partner has done it too and she absolutely loved it, up in Maine.

Hi, I just saw that someone had found my blog through your blog, and as I read your "About" page, I am glad to have come across it. I used to live in your area (went to Villanova Law) and remember what it was like to run/walk in the Valley Forge area - it's beautiful! I'm glad to see too that "middle of the pack" can include people within the top 70% - some days that is where I end up, or even further back. And you're right, we can't train like elites, that is for sure!

Looking forward to reading more of your advice, like you, I like to be prepared with (as my husband says) "all my gear!"

Thanks for the comment longrunner -- glad you enjoyed the post. Are you training for an upcoming race? How is your running going? I'm planning on running a marathon this summer and so far my training is going well.
